I really enjoyed reading Totem Salmon
Freeman House tells an interesting story about how salmon habitat restoration ideas originated and evolved in the Mattole River Valley in Northern California and how this ideology spread to many other watersheds. It describes a group of colourful locals who worked for over twenty years to repair the effect of poor logging practices and save one of the last wild species of salmon in California.
Many of the characters have the opinion that there is nothing on earth like a Mattole king salmon.

I found this book entertaining and educational.

This book was beautifully written.
