Poppy is too modest to showcase his work, so I thought I would share with you pictures of the Poppy Cane Rod I just received. It’s an 8’ 5 wt with two tips. Its a stunning rod, excellent craftsmanship and beautifully finished. The rod has a Struble slide band reel fitting which holds my vintage Perfect — perfectly. For any of you that are looking for a “step back in time” to the days of trout streams and cane rods, Poppy’s rods are all that and more. Thank you Poppy, it’s a treasure I will cherish.

What a nice piece of craftsmanship and a trip down memory lane once it is in your hands.

Really looks great! I got a chance to cast the 7' 4wt last fall and thought it was fantastic. Can't wait to get it!

Great-looking rod! Poppy, do you make cane two handers as well?

I do not make two handers at present and doubt I ever will. I have plenty to keep me busy with single handers and trying to learn how to make fly reels.

If one is in the market for a cane two hander I can highly recommend a few that I have some personal experience with Bob Clay, James Reid, Ryan White, Mark Shamburg-Donohue, Glen Brackett/Sweetgrass Rods, David Reid of Boise, Idaho, Jimmy Chang of Michigan.
