Hello,

I"m new to the site, and I have a question about the Beulah platinum 13'8" 8 weight rod. I am thinking about getting it, but wondering if I could use the same shooting heads that I use on my Echo TR 8 weight rod? Currently, I am running a skagit compact 630 grain and a 600 grain rage on my Echo rod. would these heads be too heavy for the Beulah rod?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,

Tim

Hi Tim, I cannot imagine attempting to shift that sort of weight on the Platinum... Use a 500 - 550 grain skagit. Don't know anything about the Rage. -- AJ

I appreciate your help AJ. I was kind of thinking that would be too heavy. I guess I will have to demo some different lines to see what feels right to my casting style.

I will second AJ’s notion. The Beulah Platinum is a much softer stick than the TR. Good luck!

Thanks for your advice Sean. I will definitely try some lighter heads when I get the rod. I was just hoping I could use the same heads for both rods and save a little money.
