Well l'm starting my season a week or two later than usual, but out Pheasant season finished at the end of January & the fishing Started on the Tweed on the First of February.

My car is already packed on the driveway, I'm going to make breakfast (bacon, eggs, mushrooms & toast) & my fishing buddy will be around in just over an hour's time when we'll load his gear into my car and set off for Scotland (around a 7 hour drive + breaks; as the years pass my bladder needs more of those!).

We are fish a lovely beat, Upper Floors in the grounds of Floors Castle at Kelso, I just hope we get lucky over our 4 days fishing & land a fresh Atlantic springer - they are a bit like religion as you have to have faith that they exist. I was lucky last year & caught the first one off the beat for the season, the year before my pal caught beautiful fish in the mid teens of pounds - I hope that this year we are both successful.

It looks like it's going to be cold, half of ny bag is filled with thermal layers of clothes.

Still, "bring it on!" as they say.

Regards, Tyke.

I have looked at that castle and pool or beat as you call it, many times from the web cam in that bed and breakfast in Keslo. Looks like an interesting place.
